Less than a year after launching its first ever live poker event, The Hendon Mob team is delighted to announce the first ever standalone poker festival for The Hendon Mob Championship, taking place at King’s Resort in Rozvadov from 28th Nov to 1st December 2019.
King’s Resort has firmly established itself as Europe’s premier poker venue, and a mecca for poker players from all corners of Europe and beyond, and regularly plays host to some of the world’s marquee poker festivals including the World Series of Poker Europe and the partypoker Millions.
Since its conception in late 2018, The Hendon Mob Championship has partnered with established poker tours and festivals to bring fun and engaging events to recreational players throughout Europe at an affordable buy in. So far in 2019 THMC has run successful events in Tallinn and Prague alongside MPN Poker Tour, as well as featuring at the iconic Irish Open in Dublin.
THMC Rozvadov
THMC Rozvadov will see the Championship take centre stage for the first time. The four day festival will feature six events including the €220 buy in €200k guaranteed main event, the second edition of The Hendon Mob Short Deck Championship as well as the €440 Hendon Mob High Roller, featuring a €25k guarantee. As well as big guarantees, THMC Rozvadov will also be attended by The Hendon Mob team, who will hand out additional prizes including customised merchandise, not forgetting the coveted and unique THM profile flag, awarded to all cashing players in the Main Event.
The Hendon Mob will continue support poker initiatives in Malta in 2019 after joining forces with Cash Game Festival and the inaugural Malta Poker Championships. After the successful launch of The Hendon Mob Championships at the Malta Poker Festival last November, Hendon Mob will partner with the MPF team once again, this time to bring the first ever “Short Deck” tournament to the Island of Malta.
“Short Deck” Hold’em has snowballed in popularity in the last two years, spurred by the Triton Super High Roller Series which has exposed viewers to the high-octane game, in which cards of value 5 and lower have been removed from the deck, being played by the world’s best players at the highest stakes. Short Deck has also featured at the 2018 Poker Masters and the 2019 US Poker Open, and is expected to grow in popularity, especially given the addition of a $10k Short Deck event to the schedule of the 2019 World Series of Poker
The Hendon Mob Short Deck Championship will play out on Sunday 19th May, on the tail of end of a week-long poker extravaganza, which kicks off with Cash Game Festival on 13th May and culminates in multiple live streamed final tables playing out at Club 22 on the top floor of the Portomaso Tower, including the €15k guaranteed Betsson One Bullet event, the showpiece event of 7 taking place during the series.
The THM team looks forward to seeing you in Malta in May. The full schedule for the Cash Game Festival and Malta Poker Championships can be found here.
The Hendon Mob will return to Malta for the second edition of The Hendon Mob Championship Malta later in the year and will out in force to celebrate the 1st birthday of THMC. Stay tuned to our Social Media Channels for further announcements.

The Hendon Mob – a poker information and entertainment resource for all
Even on its slowest days for traffic TheHendonMob.com enjoys more than double the number of visitors than the WSOP Main Event has entries. Thousands of poker fans visit the profiles of household names like Justin Bonomo, Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth, as well the AllTimeMoneyList.com standings – but the vast majority of visitors to our websites check out their own profiles, and those of their friends. They check the results of local, small buy-in tournaments that they played recently, and they strive to add new results, as well a new flag when they travel abroad for an event or festival. After seeing their profile is updated, many will check out the Tournament Spotlight and the Events Calendar to see what their next poker trip could be.
The Hendon Mob Championship Edition ONE
The goal of The Hendon Mob Championship is to put the team behind TheHendonMob.com in the same room as the grass roots players who form the cornerstone of the site’s community. From a group of 4 players from Hendon looking to track their own results, to a database of 570,000 players, 2.6m results in 375k events, the site has come a long way since its inception. However, a site with such a large and passionate community cannot exist facelessly in the realms of cyberspace, and this is why The Hendon Mob Championship came to be.
The inaugural edition was held at Hendon Mob Championship at the Malta Poker Festival. The €250 buy-in event saw 491 players from 18 different countries show up to play, creating a prize pool of over €100,000. The Hendon Mob team was present throughout the 2-day event, chatting to players on a wide array of subjects, giving out THM merchandise, and helping players with profile fixes and photo uploads, and of course taking suggestions on where to take THMC in 2019. Stay tuned to the homepage and our social media channels to find out the outcome!
Custom THM Flag
We’ve now added our custom THMC Flag to the profiles of all the 55 players who cashed. Congratulations to all who cashed for being part of the 55/568,000 or 0.00009676% to garner a THMC custom flag on their profile, and especially Oleksii Yerema who overcame Samuel Dessaix-Porter in an epic heads-up tussle to become the first THMC champion.

In just a month’s time, the Hendon Mob Championship will be playing down to a winner at it’s inaugural stop in Malta. The Mediterranean island has been the home of The Hendon Mob and GPI team since 2013, and come the of start of November, much of the island will be gripped by poker fever as the 2018 Malta Poker Festival takes center stage.
Malta Poker Festival @ Portomaso Casino
The Malta Poker Festival will the first of it’s kind to do away with side events in favour of purely main events, including the MPF Main, The Hendon Mob Championship, the Israeli Poker Championship and APAT Main Event. All events will feature the big blind ante, which has become standard in the world’s biggest events, improving game-flow and increasing the number of hands dealt.
The €220+€30 Hendon Mob Championship will play out over the 4th and 5th November at Malta’s premier poker venue, The Casino at Portomaso, the home to 3 EPTs and 2 WPTs. Last month, The Malta Poker Festival stakeholders got together at the casino to talk about the vision behind MPF, and give the local players and media, a flavor of what was to come.
Custom Flags & Limited Hoodies
The team at THM/GPI is very excited to announce that the THM Championship event will award a unique custom ‘Flag’ on the Hendon Mob profile of all players who cash in the event, a flag that will be achievable nowhere in the world other than at a Hendon Mob Championship event.
‘Flag hunting’ has been synonymous with Hendon Mob for many years, with some players traveling to far-flung destinations purely for the hope adding of new and unusual flag to their collection. When Super High Roller specialist Steve O’Dwyer showed up playing a $200 PLO tournament in Tbilisi, Georgia in 2016, he confirmed the reason for his presence was his quest for the coveted Georgian flag on his Hendon Mob profile.
In addition to the awarding of the unique THMC flag, there will also be a series of Hendon Mob ‘bounties’ playing the event. These players will be chosen from the THM team as well as selected friends and known pros. These bounties can be identified by their Hendon Mob hoodies, limited edition hoodies which will be won by anyone who knocks out one of our team.
Stay tuned to hendonmob.com and our social media accounts for more announcements as the event draws closer. The team looks forward to seeing you in Malta.

MALTA – June 19, 2018 – The GPI/THM have today announced plans for “The Hendon Mob Championship” – a three-day event featuring a €220+30 buy-in. The inaugural event will be played as part of the Malta Poker Festival in November 2018.
“After almost two decades serving the poker community via our database and ranking network, the first Malta Poker Festival presented us with the perfect opportunity to launch our live product,” said Global Poker Index and THM Poker Database President, Eric Danis.
“The Hendon Mob Championship will be a grassroots initiative, catering to the very poker fans who have formed the cornerstone of our community since the outset. With a great structure, a low buy-in, and a place amidst a plethora of great events at the Malta Poker Festival, the Championship will help us better serve the poker community,” added Roland Boothby, GPI/THM Poker Content Manager.
