Global Poker Index and the Canadian Poker Tour Enter Into 2014 Partnership
London, United Kingdom (March 18, 2014) – On the heels of agreements with several tours and poker rooms around the world, the Global Poker Index continues in its mission to standardize poker-ranking systems worldwide with the announcement of a partnership with the Canadian Poker Tour for the 2014 poker season.
The partnership sees both organizations share advertising opportunities in an effort to promote the game of poker as well as the Canadian Poker Tour and the Global Poker Index in Canada and around the globe.
The terms of the agreement also include a CPT focus on GPI’s popular Facebook game, Fantasy Poker Manager, as well as a continued commitment in improving the GPI’s and CPT’s relationships with casinos and poker rooms in Canada.
“Since its inception, Canada has been one of the most dominant countries inside the GPI300”, said Global Poker Index and The Hendon Mob CEO Alexandre Dreyfus. “We know that Canadians are some of the most passionate poker fans in the world and so many of them play in live events across the country. With our commitment to have All Players – All In, with most open events on the live tournament circuit now qualifying for GPI Points, our partnership with the Canadian Poker Tour is a natural step in the right direction – best of luck to all players competing in the CPT PoY race!”
“We are excited to be part of the Global Poker Index and give our players the opportunity to compete in a standardized ranking system both nationally and internationally”, said a spokesperson on behalf of the Canadian Poker Tour.
The Canadian Poker Tour will immediately revamp their Player of the Year format for 2014, utilizing the Global Poker Index’s innovative scoring formula to determine the Canadian Poker Tour Player of the Year for the 2014 poker season.
