Richest Irish Open Ever Set for 2025

The oldest poker tournament in Europe is celebrating its 45th birthday in 2025, and the people behind it are juicing up the festival to commemorate it. The 2025 Irish Open is longer, larger and richer, featuring 12 days of huge fields, prize pools, and paydays.

The Royal Dublin Society (RDS) will host the extended 2025 Irish Open from April 10 to 21. The extra four days have allowed the organizers to jam more events and boost the guarantees. Headlining events like the Irish Open Main Event and Mini Irish Open have doubled their guarantees with new events like the €1,000,000 GTD Mystery Bounty and a handful of High Rollers added to the schedule.

The Hendon Mob Championship is back as a featured side event with new and returning mixed games like Open Face Chinese, Pot Limit Omaha, Big-O, 8-Game Mixed Championship, H.O.R.S.E., and 2-7 Triple Draw. Ladies’ and Seniors’ events are also on the schedule, along with a new Irish Open Deaf Championship.

The Hendon Mob Championship Gets a Boost

As we have done every Irish Open since 2019, The Hendon Mob Championship is on the schedule for 2025. THMC Dublin will play out over two days with an increased buy-in to €350. Day 1 begins at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15th.

THMC has been a growing success within the Irish Open schedule, hitting 238 runners in 2019, 332 in 2022, 400 in 2023, and 599 in 2024. Our player-friendly events give 30,000 chip starting stacks, 30-minute levels, and a single-reentry. Day 2 gets underway at noon local time on Wednesday, April 16th.

Like Colin Horgan in 2024, the winner of THMC Dublin will receive a package for the THMC Cape Town Million in November 2025 in South Africa. Details for the promotion will be made available soon, but this is a prize you do not want to miss out on playing for.

2024’s Success Leads to Massive Upgrades for 2025

The 2024 Irish Open Main Event was the largest €1,000 tournament ever held in Ireland, attracting a staggering 3,233 entries. The festival saw record-breaking fields in almost every tournament, and more than €7,500,000 in prize money was awarded to players.

Irish Open organizers Paul O’Reilly and JP McCann expressed their excitement about the 2025 event, stating, “We are thrilled to announce that the Irish Open will be extended by an additional four days next year. Our goal has always been to expand the event and ensure players have an unforgettable experience in Dublin, both at the tables and beyond. We are also delighted to continue our strong partnership with PokerStars and Paddy Power as our event sponsors, whose support helps us deliver a world-class poker experience. Additionally, we are pleased to welcome back LuxonPay as both an event and payment partner. With many exciting plans in place for 2025, we’re looking forward to what will be our most exciting event to date!”

With success in 2024, the guarantee for the €1,150 Main Event is now at €2,500,000, and the hugely popular €250 Mini Irish Open boasts an upgraded €1,000,000 guarantee. Events like the THMC, 6-Max Championship, and America’s Cup have evolved into two-day events. New events like the €1,000,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty and High Roller series add even more excitement to an already prestigious poker festival.
