Our long-standing partners at Sunbet Poker Tour by MJPT have released the schedule for the upcoming stop at GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World in Cape Town, South Africa. The festival runs from November 20th to December 1st and offers guaranteed prize pools of R10,000,000, including a R4,000,000 guaranteed Main Event and the return of The Hendon Mob Championship Cape Town Million.

Winners of THMC events worldwide in 2024 will embark on the incredible journey to Cape Town as part of their prize for claiming a THMC trophy throughout the year. This year’s festival at GrandWest features 12 events with buy-ins ranging from R5,000 to R75,000. Some key events include the Welcome to Cape Town kick-off, Mega Million, Little Slam, a High Roller and Super High Roller, Supastaks, a ladies event, and a Pot Limit Omaha event hosted by Sunbet Poker Tour founder Marc Joseph.

R1,000,000 GTD THMC Cape Town Million

It is almost time for the second edition of the THMC Cape Town Million. Last year’s event saw 210 players smash the guarantee and fight for a share of the R1,498,560 prize pool. Rachid Amamou was the winner, taking away R375,560.

There’s another million guaranteed this year and three qualifying flights to make it to Day 2. The Cape Town Million carries a buy-in of R8,000. Day 1A begins on Sunday, November 24th, at 5 p.m., followed by Day 1B on Monday at noon and Day 1C at 7 p.m. later that day. Players start with 30,000 chips and play nine 30-minute levels on Day 1. Day 2 is set for noon on Tuesday, November 26th, playing down to a winner.

The Main Event and More

At Sunbet Poker Tour festivals, there are many options and much to play for. The R4,000,000 guaranteed Main Event is the headlining event in Cape Town. The three-day event boasts four qualifying flights beginning on Wednesday, November 27th. The buy-in is R15,000, and players receive a starting stack worth 40,000. Ten 50-minute levels are played on Day 1, followed by 60-minute levels on Days 2 and 3.
