The Festival Series Heads Back to Malta in September

The majestic Portomaso Casino in St. Julian’s, Malta, will welcome back The Festival Series this September, The Festival team announced today. Beginning on September 8th, The Festival in Malta features 45 events, concluding on September 15th. All fan-favourite events are returning, including The Hendon Mob Championship, Mixed Games Championship, and The Festival in Malta Main Event.

The Festival heads for Malta with a programme of almost every known poker variant, as well as Casino games and cash game challenges. The schedule overlaps with the end of the Vamos Poker Tour stop in Malta, giving players a great chance to sample both series.

The Festival in Malta

This will be the second time The Festival Series visits the poker island destination of Malta. Once again, Portomaso Casino will host. The event schedule for The Festival in Malta includes all the established favourites for which the series has become famous. The €250 Hendon Mob Championship kicks things off, followed by the €550 Mixed Games Main Event, with a H.O.R.S.E.S format (Sviten Special accounts for the additional S). Both events have more than one starting day, as does the €550 No Limit Hold’em Main Event, beginning later in the week.

The Mystery Bounty returns to being a single-starting-day event, and there are €1,100 High Rollers for No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and Open Face Chinese. Festival favourites like the Festival Queens ladies’ event and Seniors make their way onto the 45-event schedule.

The Hendon Mob Championship

Fresh off a European record-setting THMC event at The Festival in Rozvadov, The Hendon Mob Championship returns to Malta and Portomaso, where it all began six years ago. THMC gets The Festival in Malta underway with the first of three starting flights on September 8th.

The €250 event gives players 30,000 chips to start and plays 30-minute levels. To sweeten the pot, not only will the winner receive a custom trophy and THMC badge, but all THMC winners in 2024 will join us in South Africa later this year for the THMC Cape Town Million. Click here for full details.

Qualify Online for The Festival Series

Qualification via satellites for The Festival Series is available on many online poker sites. Players can win an entry to the €550 Main Event and secure hotel accommodation and a hospitality package.

Vamos Poker Tour Running September 4-8

The Vamos Poker Tour is a series of low-medium buy-in tournament festivals around Europe, including stops in Italy, Malta, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Cyprus, and Portugal. It was founded by Spaniard Francisco “Kikuxo” Fernandez. Vamos Poker Tour Malta runs from September 4-8 and features a €350 Main Event, a €400 Pot Limit Omaha Championship, a €250 Mystery Bounty, and a €700 NLH High Roller. 

Combining schedules on Sunday, the 8th, presents an excellent opportunity for the players to experience the offerings of both tours. Both tours include a variety of affordable poker tournaments in Hold’em and non-Hold’em formats.
