The Festival in Rozvadov Produces Largest European THMC Ever
The Festival Series debut at King’s Casino Rozvadov saw the 10-day festival dish out more than 30 trophies and a truly international poker gathering with over 15 nationalities collecting hardware. The Hendon Mob Championship returned as a featured event in the festival and attracted a massive record-setting field.
More than €1.2 million was awarded across all the trophy events, including €190,000 in the THMC and €475,000 in the Main Event. King’s Casino also awarded its first-ever trophies to Black Jack and Roulette event champions.
Record-Setting European THMC
The Hendon Mob Championship Rozvadov was European soil’s biggest Hendon Mob event, attracting 825 players. Iranian player Majid Alimoradpour was victorious after a heads-up deal with Marek Sukup from Czechia. The remaining prize pool was chopped as both collected €35,250, and they played on for the custom THMC trophy and Cape Town Million package. Majid will join the Hendon Mob team and fellow qualifiers in Cape Town this November.
A total of 89 players shared a piece of the €190,000 prize pool and collected the coveted THMC badge and flag for their THM profile.
Presiyan Tsvetanov Wins The Festival in Rozvadov Main Event
Bulgarian Presiyan Tsvetanov won the Main Event of The Festival in Rozvadov, winning a top prize of €80,000 first prize and a seat in the €10,350 Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe later this fall. Presiyan outlasted a field of 989 players after a long heads-up battle with Czech player Michal Riczak, whose second-place finish was worth €58,250. Each of the top six players had the €10,350 WSOP Europe Main Event seat added to their prizes.
After taking down the title, Presiyan commented that getting this far and achieving his biggest win in poker was an amazing feeling. Paying tribute to his heads-up opponent, he acknowledged he had played well, had been a tough opponent, and had to make many adjustments to his game to counter Michal’s bet sizing.
News, Notables, and Next Up for The Festival
The Festival Series regular Sascha Manns picked up the H.O.R.S.E.S Main Event title, securing his first-ever Festival trophy after many close shaves. He also picked up 2nd place in the 8-Game event and 39th in the Mystery Bounty, which brought him up to The Festival Series results leaderboard, tied for 3rd with 11 cashes.
Omri Vidal won the Mystery Bounty and the top prize of €27,150, which included a €10,350 WSOPE Main Event ticket. He defeated Maciej Kondraszsuk from Poland heads-up. The event had 620 entries, creating a prize pool of €159,030, well above the €100,000 guarantee.
